Dragon Special Resin (DSR) production is equipped with one of the largest Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) lines in China with Continuous Polymerization (CP) capacity of 320,000 metric tons of Hitachi CP production process followed by two Solid-State Polymerization (SSP) lines of UOP-SINCO SSP technology with production capacity of 240,000 metric tons. An ongoing plant expansion will be completed in 2009 with capacity being increased to 540,000 to assure our ability to keep up with future demands for PET. This state-of-the-art technology is capable of producing various grades of polyester chips with different viscosities to meet each individual customer’s requirement. This assures lot to lot constancy in clarity and physical properties. With completion of our current expansion DSR will be one of the largest manufacturers of PET in The Pacific Rim with annual capacity of 540,000 metric tons.
The facility is strategically located as part of a vertical integration in the city of Xiamen that begins with manufacturing of Paraxylene (PX) at Dragon Aromatic (by 2009), Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) at Xianglu Petrochemicals to Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) at DSR in parallel with Polyester Fibers at Xianglu Chemical Fiber.
Xianglu Petrochemical has annual capacity of 1,500,000 metric tons. With phase two expansion the annual volume will be 3,000,000 metric tons.
Moreover, DSR has a Centralized Utility Center in the South Industrial Zone of Haicang, which provides public utilities such as steam, heat through heat-transferring medium and electricity. The self-generated power supply facility ensures uninterrupted production line. DSR is capable of supplying 5 Mega Ton steam to the industries in Haicang South Industrial Zone and supplying 800 Mega Kwh electricity to the power grid through 220KV circuitry.
DSR's heat transferring system, with a capacity of 387,000 Mkcal/year, not only meets its captive requirement, but also provides other industries in Haicang Investment Zone. By employing a highly efficient dust collection system and MgO desulfurization process, DSR can achieve the goal for environmental protection.
The vertically integrated facilities allow great control over cost management of raw material and create efficiency and ensure a steady production and a consistent quality supply.
